Autor, editor, puesta en obra: desencuentros y conciliaciones en los contornos de un libro (Operación masacre, 1957)

Abstract

En este artículo se estudian algunos aspectos problemáticos del proceso de puesta en obra de un texto, realizada con el libro como soporte de la comunicación discursiva. Se analiza, específicamente, la relación que se establece entre autor y editor, entendidos como figuras socialmente delimitadas, en el caso particular de un libro: la primera edición de Operación masacre (1957), de Rodolfo Walsh. A partir de un análisis de los discursos peritextuales autorales (internos) y editoriales (externos) del libro, se indagan los modos de construcción del autor y su obra, distinguiendo los posicionamientos institucionales y político-ideológicos que orientan, respectivamente, la implementación peritextual autoral y editorial. Asimismo, se muestra la interrelación entre dichos posicionamientos, condicionada por el contrato de edición que hace posible la realización material del libro. ABSTRACT: This article studies some troublesome aspects arisen in the process of turning texts into works, considering the object book as the medium of discoursive communication. It specifically deals with the relationship between the socially delimited figures of the author and the editor by focusing in the particular case of one book —the first edition of Rodolfo Walsh’s Operación masacre, published in 1957. Based on an analysis of the authorial (internal) and editorial (external) peritextual discourses of the book, we investigate the ways in which the author and the work itself are constructed, distinguishing the institutional and political-ideological positions which orientate the implementation of both the authorial and the editorial peritextual items. We also show the interrelationship between such positions, as conditioned by the publishing agreement that enables the material realization of the book.
