La teoría literaria feminista y sus lectoras nómadas

Abstract

En este texto se presenta una breve recapitulación acerca de cómo, en las teorías literarias feministas que más influencia han tenido en los estudios literarios académicos, las categorías mujeres y mujer han dejado de ser conceptos esencialistas y se han convertido en signos que adquieren sentido en contextos discursivos específicos. Para realizar este recorrido, primero se traza esta trayectoria como se ha hecho convencionalmente, una historia lineal que va del reduccionismo esencialista al postestructuralismo, para proponer después una interpretación distinta que destaca la ubicación y el papel de la lectora feminista. En el ensayo se propone que esta lectora es una entidad nómada y un locus de enunciación producto de la teorización feminista en general, una lectora que transita libre pero intencionadamente entre muchas perspectivas interpretativas, que incluyen al lector implícito en el texto y a la lectora situada contextualmente. ABSTRACT: This paper revisits two foundational essays that have reshaped the field of feminism, gender and literary studies. I show how the category of woman has been unpacked and the ways it has shifted to become a contested sign that acquires meaning in specific discursive contexts. The essay maps a conventional trajectory that begins with essentialist reductionism, ends with poststructuralism, and continues to offer another interpretation of this history, which underlines the role of the feminist reader. This essay proposes that this reader is a nomadic entity and a locus of enunciation, a product of feminist theory in general, a reader that freely though intentionally moves between many interpretive perspectives that include that of the reader implicit in the text as well as that of the contextually situated reader.
